A pandemic may have stopped people from traveling and even socializing, but an amazing thing has taken place during lockdown: A Facebook page called “View From My Window” launched, inviting people from around the world to share their views from home.
Created on March 23, 2020, more than 2 million people followed the page — so many it turned off new followers on April 28, 2020. People from around the world not only shared their photos, but their stories, their hopes and their well wishes to strangers. And people responded, with thousands commenting to share their own locations and experiences from their homes.
This heartwarming Facebook page is connecting people during a global crisis, showing how beautiful the world truly can be. We took a sample of the thousands of photos and their captions to remind people everywhere that we are all together, even if we are apart.

View From Kenya

A view of Lake Victoria in the horizon from my bedroom window.
The lake is shared among three nations, namely Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. At night, I can see lights from small ships docking.
Also on the photo are bananas and sugar cane plants and trees. We enjoy good weather around the year and sufficient rainfall makes the place evergreen.
