This Hotel Will Throw You a Party If You Get Pregnant Here
A hotel group in Poland has found a very specific way to respond to the country’s low birth rate. If you conceive during your stay at one of their properties, they’ll host a celebration in your honor. The initiative includes gifts, event spaces, and even a stroller for the first baby born through the program.
The idea comes from Władysław Grochowski, the hotel chain’s owner, who believes businesses should play a role in tackling social issues. In this case, that means linking hospitality with the hope of more babies being born in the country.
The Birth Rate That Sparked the Idea

There is no denying that Poland’s fertility rate has been steadily declining for decades. In 1990, the country recorded 2.06 live births per woman. That number dropped to 1.33 by 2021, and fell again to 1.2 in 2023. These figures fall below the population replacement rate and have triggered debate about long-term consequences for labor, retirement systems, and economic growth.
Rather than wait for government policies to address it, Władysław Grochowski took a different route. As the head of one of Poland’s largest hotel and real estate groups, he created a personal incentive: free family celebrations for couples who conceive during their stay. By anchoring his offer to a measurable demographic issue, Grochowski made clear that this wasn’t just a hotel promotion.
What The Hotel Offers Couples
Arche Hotels spans the country with more than 4,000 rooms available across 23 properties, located in cities such as Lublin and Wrocław. Those who start a family during their hotel stay can receive a complimentary celebration hosted by the hotel. These events can take place in one of the chain’s restaurants or in designated event spaces, with the hotel covering the costs.
For the first child born under the program, Arche will also provide a stroller and a welcome package for the parents. The company plans to mark each new birth with a tree planted in honor of the baby. These gestures are intended to make the offer tangible rather than symbolic.
However, eligibility isn’t open to all guests. Couples must live in Poland, and at least one parent must hold Polish citizenship. Tourists or temporary residents do not qualify for the rewards. Grochowski’s focus is clearly on boosting domestic births, not attracting international attention.
A Cash Reward for Property Buyers
Grochowski’s birth initiative further extends into Arche’s real estate division. Customers who purchase residential properties through the company are also eligible for a financial incentive. If either a buyer or an employee has a child within five years of purchasing an Arche property, the company will pay them 10,000 złotys, which equals roughly £2,047.
This element of the initiative reinforces the idea that housing and family planning are closely linked. By supporting people who are settling into long-term residences, the business tycoon hopes to address concerns about stability and affordability, which often factor into decisions about having children.
The offer applies both to staff and customers, which reflects a broad internal and external approach to the issue. The cash bonus serves as an added nudge to those who may already be considering parenthood but are held back by financial uncertainty.
